When God answers

Where do I begin?  Well not to make it too long I'll get to the point.
On Friday the 5th 2016 my husband asked me to please pray that God answers him regarding a big decision he wants to make.  He was planning on doing it in two years' time, but the opportunity arose to do it this year (to do with his job/future), but those interested had to fill in the forms before the 10th.  So we prayed, he prayed, I prayed whether this was God's will for him, whether this was the way God wanted us to go now.
So last night I was again praying, reminding God about answering us before the 10th.  After prayer God led me in His word to Ps 143.
Hear my prayer, O Lord;
    listen to my plea!
Answer me because you are faithful and righteous.
I lift my hands to you in prayer.
I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain.
Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning,
    for I am trusting you.
Show me where to walk,
for I give myself to you.
10 Teach me to do your will,
    for you are my God.
May your gracious Spirit lead me forward
    on a firm footing.
11 For the glory of your name, O Lord, preserve my life.
Because of your faithfulness, bring me out of this distress.
Those verses spoke to my heart and especially when I read verse 8, I had this joy rise up in me and I had this 'knowing' that God was going to answer us this morning.  The following is what I wrote in my spiritual journal last night:
(I'm translating because I wrote it in my mother tongue.)
I believe with my whole heart that the Lord is going to answer us because we are asking for His guidance!  We are knowing Him in this big decision we want to make.  We do not want to operate in our flesh, in our own wisdom and understanding because then we can only go wrong.  Therefore He will show us the way forward, the path we are to take.  His good Spirit will lead us on a level road.  I believe He is going to let us know in the morning as to what to do.  We are waiting on you Lord and we know you are a God who is always on time.  Your timing is always perfect.
So this afternoon my husband comes home from work and tells me that he believes the Lord answered him.  He said that another man at work who also needed the same forms (my husband did not even try to fill out the forms because he was waiting on God!), came to get some and he was told there are none in stock!  They have to order it and the deadline has been extended to the 12th!  haha  Do you see it?  How the Lord answered?  No forms for my husband to fill out!  That's a clear cut answer from God that He does not want my husband to do that now.  I knew it wasn't God's will right at this time in our life.  I just knew it.  Oh my goodness, the Lord is so amazing.  How can anyone doubt that this was all His doing. :D  I LOVE YOU MY LORD MY GOD of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob!  Thank you JESUS.  Tomorrow is a public holiday, so today was actually the last day to get an answer from the Lord. :)  See, God's timing, perfect timing...and it was in the morning that He gave His answer.

This morning the Lord led me in His word to Daniel 6, Daniel in the lions' den.  I learned a lot from that, but what stood out and applied to us was the fact that Daniel trusted in His God and also through all that happened to Daniel, in the end God got all the glory!  Just like here, we trusted in God and here I am giving Him all the glory and He gets it because there is no doubt the way things happened, the way God answered us, was God and only God's doing.  Hallelujah!  Thank you Lord my God!  Blessed be your Holy Name Jesus. ^_^ ♥†♥
So I decided to blog this and boast in our God so that you can be encouraged that when you ask God for an answer, He will surely do so...in His way!  God bless you.  Thanks for reading.

Wait on God's counsel

Israel provoked God to anger in the wilderness.  They forgot about all the wonderful things He did for them.  They did not wait on His counsel.  They were ungrateful for the manna He provided.  They demanded meat.  He gave them what they wanted, but God also punished them!

It is actually a sin not to wait on God.  God has His timing, His way of doing things.  God knows best.  Yet we tend to want to decide things and do things in a hurry, instead of waiting on God's counsel.

May we never forget what God has done for us.  I am sure God has done many good things in your life.  He sure has in mine!  I am also one who wants God to answer as soon as possible, but God is teaching me to be patient, to wait on Him!  God wants us to wait on Him, to trust in Him.  When we do, we can never go wrong.  While to us it may feel like nothing is happening or changing, God is working behind the scenes.  So never give up hope.  Have faith when you pray about something, ask God for something.  God is faithful and will come through for you.

John Gill writes the following commentary about this verse:
They did not ask counsel of God, though it belongs to him, and he is wonderful in it, and does all things after the counsel of his own will; nor would they take it when given by Moses and Joshua; they did not choose to wait his time and way of working; they were for limiting the Holy One of Israel to their time and way; they were for being in the land of Canaan before his time; and were for eating flesh, when it was his counsel to feed on manna he provided for them every day.

They soon forgot His works; They did not wait for His counsel,

God Will Supply

There was a drought and a famine in Israel.  It was punishment because of king Ahab committing more evil than all who were before him.

So God sent Elijah to Ahab to tell him about this.  Then God sent Elijah to hide from persecution at a brook where He said He would send ravens to feed Elijah.  Well because of the drought, the brook dried up.  So God sent Elijah to another place where God had commanded a widow to provide for Elijah.
Elijah asked the widow for some water and as she was about to get it, he asked her for some bread, but she did not have any bread.  She was actually getting ready to die with her son because she was about to use the last flour and oil that she had and then they had nothing, so they were going to die.

So Elijah told her not to fear, but to bake him a small cake and bring to him and then to make for her and her son for God said that the bin of flour shall not be used up and the jar of oil shall not run dry until the Lord let it rain again!  Everything happened according to the word which the Lord spoke.

Then the woman's son became deathly ill and he died.  Elijah cried out to God and God brought him back to life.

This just shows how our God provides for us, our Jehovah Jireh, the Lord our Provider!  We can see Elijah's obedience to God, his trust in God.  There was a drought!  God provided him with water.  There was a famine and God provided him food in a miraculous way!  There was death, God gave life!  Our God is so awesome, so loving, so kind to His faithful ones.

Let us never forget to remain true to God and trust in Him no matter what our situation may be.  God always has a plan and He will supply all our needs.  Look how He clothes the flowers in the field, He feeds the birds of the air.  You are much more valuable than they are!

6 The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook.  14 For thus says the Lord God of Israel: 'The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.' "  21 And he stretched himself out on the child three times, and cried out to the Lord and said, "O Lord my God, I pray, let this child's soul come back to him." 22 Then the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came back to him, and he revived. •~1 Kings 17:6,14,21-22
