SPIT & DUST

I was listening to Christian singer Ri-An's latest song 'Made For More' and the album cover drew my attention. It is a man made of dust/sand rising from the dust. Immediately a thought came to mind of Jesus healing a blind man's eyes with his spit and mud. I was thinking that's how God created us, from the dust and Jesus spit on the ground and made mud to heal the man's eyes. God also knits/forms us in our mother's womb. I started crying at that thought. It came from Jesus. How awesome is our God!

Genesis 2:7 CEV
The Lord God took some soil from the ground and made a man. God breathed life into the man, and the man started breathing.

Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind
John 9:6-7 CEV
6 After Jesus said this, he spit on the ground. He made some mud and smeared it on the man's eyes.
7 Then he said, “Go wash off the mud in Siloam Pool.” The man went and washed in Siloam, which means “One Who Is Sent.” When he had washed off the mud, he could see.

A Blind Man Healed at Bethsaida
Mark 8:22-26 CEV
22 As Jesus and his disciples were going into Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man to him and begged him to touch the man.
23 Jesus took him by the hand and led him out of the village, where he spit into the man's eyes. He placed his hands on the blind man and asked him if he could see anything.
24 The man looked up and said, “I see people, but they look like trees walking around.”
25 Once again Jesus placed his hands on the man's eyes, and this time the man stared. His eyes were healed, and he saw everything clearly.
26 Jesus said to him, “You may return home now, but don't go into the village.”

Psalms 139:13 CEV
You are the one who put me together inside my mother's body,

Genesis 3:19 CEV
You will sweat all your life to earn a living;
you were made out of soil, and you will once again turn into soil.

Abba

The word Abba in Hebrew means Father.  In my first language, Afrikaans, the word abba means to piggyback, to be carried on someone's back and shoulders.

That is just so much like our Heavenly Father, our Abba, carrying us through all our troubles in life.  It reminds me of Footprints in the Sand.

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!"
~•Galatians 4:6

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
~•Romans 8:15

~•Footprints in the Sand•~

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"

The Lord replied,
"The times when you have seen only one set of footprints,
is when I carried you."
